ABAT Certification Training & QASP-S Support Through the QABA Pathway
Getting into the ABA field isn’t always a straight line. The paperwork is confusing, the requirements can feel scattered, and it’s hard to know what to do first — especially when you’re trying to figure it all out while you’re already working.
That’s exactly why ASAP ABA built a supervision program specifically around the QABA credential pathway. We work with professionals who are pursuing their ABAT and, soon, their QASP-S — and we make every step of that process manageable, not guesswork.
What ABAT Certification Training Through QABA Actually Involves
The ABAT (Applied Behavior Analysis Technician) is an entry-level credential issued through the QABA credentialing system. It’s designed for direct-service professionals who are working under a supervisor and want a recognized credential that reflects their skills and ethical training in ABA.
To earn the ABAT, QABA requires candidates to complete:
- 40 hours of ABA training and instruction through a recognized option
- 15 hours of supervised fieldwork verified through QABA’s system
- A competency assessment
- The ABAT certification exam
ASAP ABA handles the supervision side of that — the 15 fieldwork hours, the competency prep, and the documentation. The 40-hour training is your responsibility separately, and we’ll help clarify your options for that during the consultation call.

What the QABA Pathway Gives You
The QABA (Qualified Applied Behavior Analyst) credentialing system isn’t just an alternative to the BACB — for a lot of professionals, it’s genuinely the better fit. It’s internationally recognized, which matters significantly if you work outside the United States or plan to at some point. And unlike some credentialing systems that keep requirements opaque, QABA’s career ladder is actually straightforward to follow.
The three credentials are:
- ABAT — entry-level, for direct-service professionals working under supervision
- QASP-S — mid-level, for practitioners moving into supervisory roles
- QBA — the advanced practitioner credential
Each one builds on the previous. You don’t have to map your whole career right now. Most of the professionals we work with come in focused on their ABAT, and by the time they finish, they have a much clearer sense of where they want to go next.
What’s Included in ASAP ABA’s ABAT Supervision Package
The ABAT Supervision Package is $1,000 USD, flat. No hourly billing, no add-ons. Here’s what that covers:
- All 15 required supervised fieldwork hours — done remotely, scheduled around your availability
- Competency review sessions — we go through the actual QABA competency areas with you before your assessment. Not a study guide handoff. Real prep.
- Documentation support — tracking hours correctly, filling out the right forms, making sure everything you submit is clean and complete before it leaves your hands
- Exam prep guidance — a targeted review of what actually shows up on the ABAT exam so you go in confident, not anxious
- A free consultation before you pay anything — we talk through your situation, confirm you meet QABA’s eligibility requirements, and make sure this package fits where you are right now
Everything runs online. That means it works whether you’re in California, across the country, or in another country entirely. Our supervisors are BCBA-credentialed — they’ve spent time in clinical settings, they understand what QABA actually looks for, and they’re not running you through a generic checklist.
Why ABAT – Not a Lesser Credential, a Different One
There’s sometimes a misconception that the ABAT is a fallback for people who couldn’t pursue the BCBA or RBT route. That’s not what it is. The ABAT is a purpose-built entry credential for direct-service ABA work that holds up in professional and clinical settings.
Where it really stands out is internationally. A lot of ABA professionals end up in situations where the BACB pathway isn’t the right fit — the country they work in, the funding structures in place, the type of program they’re running. The QABA pathway, and the ABAT certification within it, gives those professionals a recognized, legitimate path forward that doesn’t box them into a single geography.
QASP-S Certification Support — On the Way
We’re actively building a full support package for professionals pursuing the QASP-S credential — the mid-level certification for practitioners who are supervising staff, managing behavior support programs, and carrying expanded clinical responsibilities.
If QASP-S is already on your radar — whether it’s your next step or something further down the line — email us at info@asapaba.com to get on the waitlist. We’ll contact you directly when enrollment is ready.
