You Know Your Child. We’ll Help You Build the Tools.

Parents and caregivers are some of the most important people in a child’s life—and many of the most meaningful opportunities for learning happen during ordinary everyday routines.

That’s why our Community Services Program is built differently from traditional therapist-delivered ABA.

Rather than having a therapist take over, our team works with you.

Through live telehealth sessions, caregivers learn individualized behavioral strategies, practice them with their child, receive coaching and feedback, and learn how to incorporate new skills into everyday life.

Our goal isn’t simply to help during a therapy appointment.

Our goal is to help caregivers develop strategies they can use long after the session ends.

How Does the Program Work?

1. Tell Us About Your Family

California families interested in the program begin by completing our Community Services Program application. Tell us about your child’s strengths, current challenges, family priorities, and the areas where you would like support.

Applicants must currently reside in California to be considered for this program.

2. A BCBA Reviews Your Application

Because this program is delivered entirely through telehealth, each application is reviewed to determine whether the individual’s needs can be safely and appropriately addressed through a caregiver-mediated remote model.

3. We Identify Meaningful Goals

When accepted, our team works collaboratively with you to identify meaningful, individualized goals based on your child’s needs and your family’s priorities.

4. Learn Through Live Caregiver Coaching

During telehealth sessions, caregivers work with a developing behavior-analytic professional under BCBA supervision.

Your clinician may demonstrate strategies, observe interactions, help you practice new techniques, review progress, provide feedback, and help you incorporate behavioral strategies into everyday routines.

5. Practice in Real Life

ABA doesn’t have to happen only at a therapy table.

Strategies can be incorporated into naturally occurring activities such as play, meals, getting dressed, completing homework, transitioning away from preferred activities, communicating wants and needs, interacting with siblings, and participating in family routines.

6. Review Progress Together

Our clinical team uses data, caregiver feedback, observation, and ongoing assessment to evaluate progress and determine whether strategies or goals should be modified.

What Can We Work On?

Every program is individualized.

Depending on your child’s needs, caregiver-mediated ABA may address:

  • Functional communication

  • Asking for help

  • Requesting breaks or additional time

  • Accepting “no” or delayed access

  • Transitions and changes in routine

  • Following everyday routines

  • Independence and daily living skills

  • Play skills

  • Social interaction

  • Responding to social bids

  • Cooperative and reciprocal play

  • Emotional and behavioral regulation skills

  • Mild-to-moderate challenging behavior that can be safely addressed through telehealth

  • Generalizing skills across people and everyday environments

Goals are selected collaboratively and are based on clinical appropriateness, assessment information, and family priorities.

Caregivers Are Active Participants

This Is a Caregiver-Mediated Program

The ASAP ABA Community Services Program is not traditional therapist-delivered ABA conducted through a computer screen.

Caregiver participation is central to our model.

Depending upon your child’s goals, you may be asked to:

  • Participate actively during telehealth appointments

  • Practice strategies with your child

  • Help collect simple information about progress

  • Implement strategies between sessions

  • Discuss what is and isn’t working

  • Participate in caregiver training and coaching

  • Help generalize new skills into everyday routines

You don’t need to already know ABA.

That’s what we’re here to teach you.

Why Are These Services Free?

Expanding Access. Developing Future Behavior Analysts.

Our Community Services Program has two complementary purposes.

First, we want to expand access to behavioral support for eligible California families who may otherwise have difficulty obtaining services.

Second, we provide developing behavior-analytic professionals with meaningful, supervised clinical experience.

Qualified trainees may participate in caregiver coaching, behavioral assessment, treatment planning, data analysis, skill-acquisition programming, progress monitoring, and other appropriate behavior-analytic activities.

Trainees work within a structured professional training program under the supervision and clinical oversight of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Families are informed about the roles of the professionals and trainees participating in their services.

The clinical needs, dignity, safety, and welfare of participating children and families remain central to all service decisions.

Is Our Telehealth Program Right for Your Family?

Our program may be a good fit if:

  • You and the participating individual currently reside in California

  • Your child could benefit from behavioral support

  • You are having difficulty accessing ABA services

  • You do not have ABA insurance coverage

  • The cost of private-pay services creates a barrier

  • You are interested in learning strategies you can use with your child

  • A caregiver can participate consistently in telehealth sessions

  • Your child’s needs can be safely addressed through telehealth

  • You have reliable access to video-based telehealth services

  • You are comfortable participating in a supervised clinical training program

When Telehealth May Not Be the Right Level of Care

Telehealth is not appropriate for every individual or every behavioral need.

Some children and families require intensive, in-person clinical support that our Community Services Program is not designed to provide.

Individuals experiencing severe or high-risk behaviors requiring immediate physical intervention, intensive safety management, emergency intervention, or another level of in-person support may be better served through an in-person or higher-acuity treatment model.

During intake, a BCBA considers the individual’s behavioral needs, caregiver availability, home environment, safety considerations, treatment goals, and overall appropriateness for telehealth.

Being unable to participate in this program does not mean that your child is inappropriate for ABA.

It simply means that our caregiver-mediated telehealth program may not be the appropriate service-delivery model for your child’s current needs.

Who Can Apply?

Currently Available to California Residents Only

The ASAP ABA No-Cost Community Services Program is currently limited to eligible individuals and families residing in California.

We especially encourage inquiries from California families who:

  • Do not have insurance coverage for ABA

  • Are uninsured or otherwise unable to access appropriate behavioral services

  • Face financial barriers to private-pay services

  • Have experienced difficulty accessing behavioral support

  • Want to become more confident implementing behavioral strategies at home

  • Are interested in a caregiver-mediated approach

  • Can participate consistently in telehealth sessions

Each application is reviewed individually.

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance, immediate enrollment, a particular number of service hours, or continued participation.

Families residing outside California are not currently eligible for this no-cost program. ASAP ABA may offer other services separately to families outside California.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the program really free?

For families accepted into the Community Services Program, approved services provided through the program are offered at no cost to the participating family.

Where is the program available?

The No-Cost Community Services Program is currently available only to eligible participants residing in California.

This geographic limitation applies specifically to this program and does not necessarily apply to other services offered separately by ASAP ABA.

Do I need insurance?

No. Insurance coverage is not required for eligible Community Services Program participants.

Will someone provide ABA directly to my child?

This is primarily a caregiver-mediated program, rather than a traditional model in which a therapist independently provides all intervention.

Depending upon your child’s goals and clinical needs, the behavior-analytic professional may also interact directly with your child through telehealth when clinically appropriate.

Do I need to know ABA?

Absolutely not.

Our role is to help you understand the strategies being recommended, practice them, receive feedback, and learn how to use them naturally.

Who will work with my family?

Developing behavior-analytic professionals may provide services as part of their supervised professional training.

The program operates under BCBA clinical supervision and oversight.

Do I have to participate in sessions?

Yes. Because this is a caregiver-mediated program, consistent caregiver participation is an important component of enrollment.

The amount and type of participation will depend upon your child’s individualized program.

What if my child has challenging behavior?

Having challenging behavior does not automatically prevent participation.

A BCBA will evaluate whether your child’s particular needs can be safely and effectively addressed through telehealth.

If your child requires a level of in-person intervention beyond the scope of this program, we may recommend seeking a different service-delivery model.

How many hours will we receive?

There is no predetermined number of hours for every family. Frequency and duration depend upon clinical recommendations, program capacity, supervision and trainee availability, and the needs that can appropriately be addressed through this program.

Support That Extends Beyond the Session

When caregivers learn why behavior occurs, how to teach new skills, how to reinforce progress, and how to respond consistently, opportunities for learning can occur throughout everyday life.

At ASAP ABA, we want to help families build those skills.
